The Mont Royal Lookout
"Jaques Cartier, discoverer of Canada, climbed this mountain under the guidance of the Indians of the village Hochelega, and, impressed with the beauty of the landscape displayed before his eyes, he gave it the name of Mont Royal. "From which the city of Montreal took its name"."
This quote is displayed on a plaque at the iconic lookout on top of Mont Royal. The lookout has been a classic spot to visit since my days in McConnel residence building. It's a great place to end up after a jog up the mountain, or to go with friends and family who are visitng the city. All in all, a great place to get some perspective!

Lola Rosa Restaurant
A cozy, bustling vegetarian restaurant located 5 minutes from campus and my apartment! A favourtie spot to go for comfort food on a cold night. It's always fun to open the drawers at your table and read the notes that people have left, or leave on yourself!

Pikkolo Cafe
As a student who likes her coffee strong, finding Pikkolo was my saving grace.. Just around the corner from my apartment, I love going here to study or meet with friends. The coffee is good and strong, the baked goods are delicious and healthy, AND the music is good! The only issue is finding a seat...

Parc La Fontaine
As a alternative to Mont Royal (if it's too snowy), I love running to Parc La Fontaine. It's fun to run through the small streets of Plateau covered in graffiti art, and discover new restaurants and stores. anThe small lake in the center, surrounded by trees, is a peaceful escape from the McGill ghetto. It's fun people (and puppy) watching too!

OAP
At the beginning of the year in September and the end of the year in April, Open Air Pub in the middle of campus is the best place to have a beer with friends after class. It's also cool to hear local student bands play. When in doubt, you'll always find someone you know at OAP.
